Review: Kindred by Octavia E. Butler

Kindred - Octavia E. Butler

I can’t recommend this enough. This novel packs a punch even though it stands at only just over 300 pages. It is very insightful when it comes to slavery, race and gender, well written with good pacing which never dragged and I thoroughly enjoyed it. As someone who reads very little adult fantasy/sci-fi, this has definitely been a gateway book for me. I will be sure to check out the rest of her books!

Discussion Post: Hyped Books and Why I No Longer Want to Find Them

My thoughts on books with huge amounts of hype.

Brilliant!

The Eyre Affair - Jasper Fforde

I loved this book so much. I urge people who are fans of classics to read this one. It is oh so British and I loved it. I am so glad I have got the sequels! :)

Th Perks of Reading Slumps

The Eyre Affair - Jasper Fforde

This is one of the best books I have read in a while. However I can't read it. Whenever I sit down to read I end up needing to do something else or I just don't have time in the first place... meh!

Just bought the american edition of the first Harry Potter books!Love it! :)

so tired! I have just had to add 256 books to my shelves manually... oh the pain!

Do reading slumps really exist?

A discussion post about whether reading slumps exist or if they are just a part of our natural reading course :)
